Lucca Cidale is a dedicated trumpeter and music educator known for his vibrant performances and commitment to artistic excellence. His professional musical journey began at the Thornton School of Music at the University of Southern California, where he studied with Thomas Hooten and Jennifer Marotta. After completion of his undergraduate studies, Lucca continued his education by earning a master’s degree at the University of Colorado Boulder under the guidance of Dr. Ryan Gardner, Justin Bartels, and Michael Dobrinski.
Lucca's artistic style blends the rigor of solo performance with his love for chamber music and orchestral versatility. Having performed with ensembles such as the Colorado Symphony, Sarasota Orchestra, the New World Symphony, the Longmont Symphony and the Austin Symphony Orchestra, Lucca draws on a range of influences to create a multi-dimensional and expressive sound. Cidale won a position as a substitute musician for the Houston Symphony in 2025.
He has received artistic training and performed at esteemed music festivals, including the Aspen Music Festival, the Brevard Music Center, and the Domaine Forget International Music Festival. In addition to his orchestral achievements, Lucca is also a passionate and vibrant recitalist, bringing his energetic presence to solo and small ensemble performances. Lucca is committed to sharing music in every capacity and has even put on the producer hat for two independently produced music festivals held in Los Angeles, which featured emerging young artists of diverse genres in the city. One of these events, Footprints Music Festival, blended the lush greenery of Griffith Park with classical music soloists and chamber ensembles performing simultaneously to raise awareness for climate change and the human connection to nature through a guided meditation session. At this concert, Cidale, along with percussionist Dominic Grande, gave a fully improvised performance. Both festivals received high praise by attendees, with one calling her experience at Footprints “transformative.”
Currently, Lucca maintains a large teaching studio in the Austin area, sharing his expertise with young musicians through private lessons, sectionals, and masterclasses. Whether in the classroom or on stage, he continues to engage audiences and students alike through his artistic expression and love for music.
